Annette, I can not even guess what you and Amy's family must have felt when you realized what had happened to her on 9/11 five years ago. God bless her spirit and her friends and family. Amy Jarret is a hero. She lived her life in freedom. Her death represents something very important to all of us who no longer take that freedom for granted.
Luv,
Cleo

Nicole, thanks. All year long, it's easy to forget, but the anniversary brings it all back. So many people come to Ground Zero to see the site. I with the city would move faster on constructing the memorial. The victims families deserve it.

Cleo, thanks for the post. I used your link to leave a message for Amy Jarret's family. I knew them through the school from which I recently retired. I watched Amy go through high school laughing. She graduated in 1991, so full of life. She was an attendant on the plane that hit the second tower. A beautiful soul, among many, taken too soon.

Thanks, Saskia! In New York, we have a tradition every year now when night falls on September 11. As a tribute, the city beams two incredibly dazzling lights up to heaven, where the twin towers once stood. It's an amazing sight. The twin beams can be seen from miles and miles around. My husband and I will view it once again this year, from the exact same spot we stood when we watched the towers fall. It is exactly as you said, very hard to believe it actually happened.

Lovely tribute, Cleo. They showed pictures on TV here the other night and I still fill up at the sight, still can't believe it actually happened.

Beautiful post, Cleo.
I'll never forget what we as a nation lost 9-11.
When I visited New York City a few years ago, I stopped at the site where the twin towers once stood...and then visited Lady Liberty. Both places gave me chills and brought me to tears. What a great nation we live in. Thanks for reminding us of how fortunate we are.
