I have to admit, I luuuuurve reading (and writing) series. I like seeing favorite characters return and/or develop, love getting glimpses into their life post Happy Ever After, maybe see how things are going in a new chapter of their lives.
So right now, I’m a happy camper -there are lots of wonderful series around at present. But I know not everyone likes series. What about you guys? Which do you like - series or singles? Why?

I thought I had missed my designated day on the blog because in my neck of the woods, it’s already Monday, but thanks to the magic of the timeline, here I am blogging on Sunday.
Thinking about timelines was what gave me the idea for this blog - I thought we’d talk about where we like novels to be set. I don’t mind what country/city it’s in so long as the author sells me on the location as fitting to the story.
What about you - any preference? And what’s the most interesting/memorable setting you’ve ever read?

Tonight I’m reading a book that I’ve been saving up for ages because I knew it would be good. And it definitely is. I’m itching to get back to it already.
For me, it’s worth waiting for uninterrupted reading time with something I know will be good. Not only can I just wallow in the book (I really like reading from start to finish in one go), but it’s comforting to know that that time will be well spent, that the book will deliver. I have several authors who I trust to provide great reads and I do save up their books for those precious continuous reading hours.
I’m curious - do any of you "save up" good reads?
(By the way, in case you’re wondering - I’m no model of constant restraint - lots of times I cave and immediately gobble up an anticipated book, though man, reading only a bit at a time is tough!).

Today, I spent a little time catching up on some correspondence (the non electronic kind). So there I was, writing with my cool sparkly pen on Hello Kitty paper, and pondering whether to use my hamster sticky-tape or the gingham one, when it struck me (not for the first time) that I have a serious stationery addiction.
I love browsing the stationery sections in the stores, checking out the pens for just the right nib size and color, playing with the funky new inventions (remember when those refillable pen-erasers came out? Good times!) and generally buying things I probably don’t need but really, really want. I have colored staples, post-its in more colors and shapes than you can imagine and of course, a highly creative selection of pens. Yep, I can always do with more stationery.
Any other stationery addicts out there? Oooh, what awesome stuff do you have???

Through sheer chance, I was allocated today to post on this blog. That is really cool because today is the official release day of Visions of Heat, the second book in my Psy/Changeling series!
I’m very excited about this release, as I tend to get with all my releases. It’s a rush to know my book is hitting store shelves, a bubbly-happy feeling that I hope will keep getting stronger with time.
So, since I’m in such a delighted mood, how about we talk we talk about things that make us happy. What’s your rush, the thing or experience that you can never get enough of?

This is a very random blog topic. Actually, going off on a tangent - most of my posts for this blog are somewhat random. Why? Because I’m inevitably writing these late at night in my timezone. So, please excuse any not-making-sensititus.
Alrighty then, moving on to today’s actual topic. Have you ever seen those charity auctions where an author gives readers the right to bid to have their name in the next book? Pretty cool, huh? But…what if the author makes you a serial killer or something else equally gruesome? Or maybe they just make you blah.
As a reader, would you care? For the writers out there, would you ever consider doing this - I mean, you might end up with a name that totally does not fit your story - for example, something very modern when you write historicals. I can’t quite see a Buffy in a Regency!
(Oh and total plug: visit my blog on Thursday to get your name in a book…just kidding! But something cool’s going down. Make sure to drop by.)

As some of you know, I used to live in Japan. My first Valentine’s Day there was quite a revelation. See, on Valentine’s Day in the land of the rising sun, the girls give the boys they like, chocolates. Plus, they give "obligation-chocolates" to their bosses, superiors etc.
I wasn’t too impressed with this - I mean, what about reciprocation? What about romance? Then I learned about White Day (March 14). This was apparently created by retailers "to help assuage the guilt feelings of those poor obligated males who received chocolate on Valentine’s Day". One White Day, the giftees can return the favor by giving chocolates and gifts to the girls/women they received presents from.
So, do you like the Japanese custom? Or do you prefer the traditional version? And while we’re on the topic, what would make you happy this Valentine’s Day? A hunk gift-wrapped on your doorstep…or maybe that’s just me

This is either a discussion on bad boy heroes or a gratituous attempt on my part to put up an almost shirtless picture of Sawyer.
Hmmm…I’ll leave it to you to decide. So, Sawyer or Jack?
